PCBs: POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS

DDT: DICHLORODIPHENYLTRICHLORO-ETHANE

In 1962 Rachel Carson's book 'Silent Spring' first drew people's attention to the slow death of nature being caused by the pesticide DDT.

In response, Monsanto published 'The Desolate Year' - a parody about a DDT-free USA being overun by a plague of locusts. The book was sent FREE to over 5000 media outlets.

By 1968 DDT was banned in North America and Europe.

Agent Orange: TETRACHLORODIBENZO-PARA-DIOXIN

As their contribution to the Vietnam War Effort, Monsanto produced Agent Orange for the US Air Force. The deadly weed-killer was dropped on jungles and farms to kill trees and crops.

Since then, 500,000 babies have been born in Vietnam with Dioxin deformities.

$180 million has been paid in compensation to US war veterans disabled by the poison.

NUTRA-SWEET/ASPARTAME

Aspartame was originally listed in the US military's Chemical Warfare division - whether it was used as a sweetener to hide the taste of poison, or as a poison itself, is not clear.

Now used as an artificial sweetener, it was banned in the USA for causing brain-tumours -

The ban was over-turned under Ronald Reagan.

Bovine Growth Hormone: B.S.T. - BOVINE SOMATOTROPIN

BST or BGH is a genetically engineered hormone to make cows produce more milk. It also makes them produce more pus and gives them mastitis, sores and abortions.

Because of evidence that BST milk causes Breast cancer, Colon cancer and Prostate cancer in humans.

It is banned in Europe. Monsanto is trying to overturn the ban.

Monsanto's Terminator gene is engineered to make plants kill their own seeds. This means that farmers will have to buy new seed from Monsanto. It also means that if the genes infected other plants, the rest of nature could stop reproducing as well.

This technology is currently banned in every country due to it's potentially hideous consequences.
